Never liked this guy, never will. I hope the boo-birds will give it to him on June 14th when he returns to Fenway. This just shows what a punk loser he is and always will be. Glad you're gone!!

Glad to have him on the Yankees - so far he's been much, much better than the 5 or 6 guys they had out in LF last year.

I don’t know anything about the drama on the Red Sox but I read the linked article and it seemed pretty much like what you would want the guy to say about his new team. The little dig about “having backs vs airing out” was pretty innocuous.

I’m assuming there is more to the story. I was expecting more.

It read it like a dig at Cora, whom I thought you guys hate.

I am the one who posts most often about my severe dislike of Cora...hate?, I can't say I really hate anyone, but he's close. Any professional sports figure that intentionally cheats, or breaks established rules should, IMO, be banned from baseball. Good enough for Rose, good enough for him. Cora got a one year vacation to Puerto Rico, then the Red Sox rehired him...bad move. They all know what the deal is when they hit professional status, to blatantly try to subvert the rules while a coach in Houston says all there is to know about Cora, the cheater. No second chance should have been given to him, he knew what he was doing and he did it anyway.

Yes, I agree the article was a dig at Cora. Cora benched Verdugo for lack of hustle and being late to the ball park. He got his ego bruised and I'm sure he pouted like a little child, thinking he was better than his teammates. To think he was a piece of the trade to/from LA for Mookie Betts is insane.

It is unthinkable to me that given the incredible opportunity Verdugo had with the Red Sox that he coudln't dump the attitude and become a solid team player. His interview was of course all roses and apple pie with the new pinstripers, it's like he got the slate wiped clean, of course he's gonna be Johnny-be-good.

May the Yankees enjoy their new left-fielder...the boo birds await in Fenway on June 18th.

Since the season is a month and a half in, we will see if his poor attitude becomes a problem with the Yankees. Not sure if he will lose playing time when Dominguez is healthy.

I would think he's shed his attitude and will try to excel with the Yankees. It's like a new beginning, everything is shiny and new, besides, how hard could it be to wake up every day and realize that you play a kid's game for about 3 hours a day for obscene money, while the greatest majority of W2 people are welded to jobs they most likely don't like. Easy peasy to adjust to new digs.

I still think the boo birds await him in Fenway on June 18th...I've got it marked on my cell phone calendar. Generally when you go from being a Red Sox player and "defect" by signing with the Yankees, it's a sin that Red Sox Nation does not easily forgive. You could ask Damon or Boggs. Youkilis did sign with the Yankees, but he was then with the White Sox. Others of course were traded.

He wasted his chance with the Red Sox as he was a good player with a bad attitude .

Alex Verdugo reportedly has a problem.

Yes, the New York Yankees outfielder has struggled this season, but an article from NJ.com's Randy Miller revealed there could be an odd reason for that: Verdugo is allergic to the chemicals cobalt and chromate.

Which isn't great when those chemicals are used to make your batting gloves. And your tattoos.
