Attempting to add a coin from inventory to a set.

braddickbraddick Posts: 24,116 ✭✭✭✭✭

I am trying to add a coin to my set yet although it shows up in my inventory it isn't showing up as available to add.
It is in another unrelated and different type of set, no problem.
Has anyone ran into this difficulty and is there a solution?

Try this if you haven't yet.

When signed into your set go to the link "Report a certificate that should match this composite" and select existing slot and scroll to the line you are after and enter your certificate. Usually set registry folks will fix the issue when it is submitted.

Thank you for the detailed response. Much appreciated!
Unfortunately, it simply states in a pink box this coin is already in this slot (it is not).
    I'll keep digging around.

I see now it is in a retired set and I am now trying to delete coins from this retired set?
I am having difficulty doing so.
I found this out as I deleted this coin from my inventory. I then added it to my inventory and checked the box
to place it in current registries (lowball and Everyman).
It was placed in the Everyman and stated it was already in another set below the lowball. Clicking on that set I see I retired it last October (streamlining my sets).

A quick follow-up In case anyone reads this thread in the future with the somewhat same difficulty:

A wrote PCGS yesterday and they responded confirming the coin in question is in a retired set. PCGS can
unretire the set and thus allowing me to remove the coin and place it in a new, active set. I did request they do so.

I believe this concludes my adventure within this issue and thank you PCGS for a quick reply and speedy remedy.

    I have the same problem
I just bought a coin and it was in the sellers inventory. I sent the message through PCGS to have it removed
Later in the day I received the message that the coin was releashed and ready to add
I went to the top of the registry set page and clicked on Add Inventory, put it the cert number and clicked the check in the box that will Add these items to all of your existing sets which they match or replace items if the rating of the new item is higher. There are about 15 sets that this coin will fit and upgrade.
All it did was add the coin to inventory, it didn't show all the sets that would have been upgraded.
I then went to one of the sets that this coin would be in and it doesn't show the ADD tab for the coin.
    Any suggestions?
    Edited to add:
I did check to see if the item number is in the list of coins that can be added and it's in 9 of the 15 sets, I'll have to contact them to have them add that item to the list for the other sets that don't have it.

My issue was resolved in a single day after I wrote PCGS using the email LINK provided in their Registry Questions & Answers page.
I was impressed with their speed and remedy as before doing this I was just going to give up.

I too have had great service with Paulina, she has taken good care of me.
But now it's the weekend and I already sent them an email but don't expect anything till next week.
