Ive been collecting pop bottom Liberty Seated Halves for a dozen years and the pop report show coins that exist but Ive never seen or found (hoping they aren't just tags). I'm down to locating the very hardest coins......this is the part of collecting where patience is a virtue! Downgrades are few and far between, actually, there are only 11 possible coins. Y'all seen or know of any of these?
All are PO01 grade unless so noted: 39ND, 40-O, 46-O, 52 G6, 59-P, 70-CC (pop 3), 74-CC, 78-s F2 (maybe a tag?), 84 AG3, 84, and 86 AG3.
How do you deal with coming to the end of a set and it get s down to the hardest coins and new coins are few and far between?

To me the chase is the best part. Check all the auction houses and the bay and they will turn up eventually.
Buy them raw and send them in for grading.
There has got to be many PO01 Seated Liberty halfs out there.

The lowest you can find for a WB-3 but I’m not selling it.
What's a "tag?" A mis-graded coin?
Coin cracked, resent back in but owner retains the tag. Say the pop-1 1878-s gets cracked out and sent back into pcgs raw and is graded ag3. Coin owner is happy cause coin is now worth more as an ag3 than fr02. So the pop report still shows the fr02 but that Coin no longer exists...as the certification tag wasn't turned back into pcgs, the Pop report still shows there is a pop-1 fr02. So for someone like me, who is searching fir that fr02, I'm not going to be able to find it even though the pop say it exists...
