Large Cent Albums

Hello Everyone... I keep my raw Large Cents in the 2x2 envelopes with cotton padded inserts. It definitely keeps the coins safe when stored but comparing multiple coins together side-by-side is a bit more of a hassle. I was recently looking at albums for raw LC's and see that the Dansco Album is no longer available, but that Whitman and Littleton both have albums for these coins. The Whitman album seems a bit dark and only has the date-run and the Littleton album is similar. The Dansco seemed the most comprehensive... including most of the Redbook varieties. Does anyone in the group use these albums? Just curious... Thanks

I store my raw examples in self adhesive 2x2s:

and then place the 2x2s in these pages:

Select the appropriate size openings for the 2x2s.
This way you can design the sequence/content of the album as you wish.
You can also generate typed labels to place on the 2x2s to enhance the appearance.

Do not let folks tell you that the 2x2 adhesive will damage the coins over time. There is no evidence to support that.

I agree with @jesbbroken . And right now there just happens to be some of the cheapest I’ve seen, but in great shape, large cent Meghrig album boards available on eBay right now. The seller had a whole hoard of Wayte Raymond and Meghrig album boards, and I bought a bunch I didn’t already have, and these are the ones he still has left. These are the smaller size ones, so you’ll need the smaller size binders. You can get them cheapest from chief coin supply, see 2nd image below or just wait for a decent binder to show up on eBay. For the ones from chief, you’ll probably have to polish it with either mineral oil or leather polish to keep it from being brittle.

I have the Littleton album. It has the major types for each date, 1793 chain, wreath and cap, 1796 cap and draped bust. I like it, but as stated earlier the variation in size makes some of them loose fitting, especially the earlier ones.

I wonder if you sent dansco an email, just a thought on the matter

I use the dansco large cent album, but some of the coins are loose in the holes, I have started using the dansco vinyl 2*2 pages in the album which are readily available.

I use small pieces of left over black rings material from airtites to "shim" the coins into their holes so they don't move around. If I get some time today I will take a picture.

Thanks @jesbroken for the shoutout! I recently put together a nine-page album for someone that wanted several of the varieties included. @lkenefic if you're interested, I'll shoot you a PM.
