What’s up with the 17-17 Oakland A’s. Are you a buyer or seller.

They’ve won 5 straight after taking 2 out of 3 in Baltimore and a split at Yankee Stadium.

Are they finally a decent team ?

Going 4-3 at NY and Baltimore May say Yes.
28th in mlb in batting average but 2nd in HR’s.

Another question is as the season wears on, will the A's have more players in the dugout than visitors in the stands?

I think they will definitely have a better record than the Pirates 😂😂😂

Its literally the real life plot of Major League. Im just waiting for the announcement that theyre flying on prop planes now and their hot tubs have fishing boat motors now.

I am selling though. The length of the season should catch up with what is mostly a minor league/backup roster. Wouldnt be the least bit surprised if their stud closer ends up getting traded either.

I'll sell on them. Like stated above it's a long season and they will not be able to sustain this recent success. Nice story though and good on them for being competitive.

The A's have a history of fielding rosters of unknown young players. At times these young players turn out to be very good, resulting in good records and playoff appearances.

Inevitably ownership/management decides to trade the newly minted star players.

    Rinse and repeat.

Imagine the future excitement and anticipation of Sacramentonians for when the Nashville White Sox come to town.

    Enjoy the go.

when the nashville white Sox come to Sacramento to play the Sacramento rivercats at game start times will either be
11 am local time or 12 midnight local time because the Athletics games will be played during prime time still..

Those playoff teams all had superstars on them. Their history of supposed unknown rosters is wildly overblown from the Money Ball stuff. Whether it was Josh Donaldson, Cespedes, Hudson, Mulder, Zito, Dye, Tejada, Chavez, Sonny Grey, Bartolo, Frank Thomas when he was still good etc

This would be the first time they really actually did something with a group of older vets that just arent that good. Its not a young roster overall and theyre missing the big time players

    Maybe a couple things there.

The As average age is like 3rd youngest in MLB. I only know this because the Brewers are up there. Am I wrong?

Those players became stars in a similar situation. I don’t see that point.

Boyle is the only young starter and hes hurt. Sears is 28 and not that good. The other 3 are in their 30s and other than Boyle all have been in the league for years and were only good for periods of time. Most of them have never thrown over a 135 innings and Wood hasnt had a healthy season in almost a decade.

The two young hitters are Ruiz whose value is his speed with no power and Butler whose been terrible in his MLB time. Theres no stars on that roster other than maybe Miller and the rest of the bullpen are 30+ year old journeymen

Okay I’ve got two words that I want you to think very seriously about.
    Cleveland Guardians.
I’ll even say I’m a buyer, it won’t matter the important thing is you get the thread started.
Didn’t want to say this but you’ve always been my favorite poster dude! You’re the best 👍
