I saw that yesterday. Obviously the database updating lags behind new submissions that affect "Finest Possible Set Rating" numbers. There's a heck of alot of information required to keep everything completely current, that's for sure.

It would be sweet if I really did have the Finest Possible - unfortunately its not the case.

I pulled the Pop Report in to a spreasheet last week and it looks like the current Finest Possible for 72 Topps Baseball is about 8.94. I haven't bothered BJ with it because this is one of the things thats going to be automated once they tie the Pop report in. So, for now - I'll just enjoy my 15 seconds of fame.

Shoot. I thought you were going to say he settled the baseball labor dispute in a way that the players and owners accept and will make the fans happy. image

I've asked BJ to update the "Finest Possible" for the 72 set and I've also opened up the viewing on the set since I finally got in the last 2 cards I needed in PSA 8 - upgraded the last 7 and a 6OC!!!

    To this point - 7 PSA 10's, 470 PSA 9's and 310 PSA 8's.

Geez -- that's it? When are you going to upgrade the rest, Frank? Congratulations on a REALLY FREAKING INCREDIBLE set.

If you ever hit the jackpot and want to spend gadzooks of money on another PSA 10 -- I've got a #741 that I'm housing in my Phillies collection ;-) You have to love Tom Hutton and the memories of his sporting the Phillies' powder blues.... (oh wait, I was too small to remember that...)

    mikeschmidt,

I'll continue to upgrade AS I GET THE MONEY. Most of the PSA 9's aren't too bad ($60 - $85) but there are just so darn many that I still need that I'll pace myself and pick up a few each month. Its also funny how differently people look at things - my first thought when I read your PSA 10 Terry Hutton comment was "wait... but thats the John Milner rookie!".

Guys - thanks to the kudos. I'm just havin a blast playin with my favorite childhood set!!!

Can't you take a loan from the Bank of Varghabucks?

To have nearly 500 PSA 9's is such a stunning accomplishment, it is beyond wonder.

  • FB, you're blowing my mind with this. That's awesome! image
  • Incredilbe indeed. I'll be the first one to support your 72 habit Frank, if you'll just send some more of those '68s over toward me image. Maybe this time the money order won't get eaten by the USPS this time.
