Rolled the dice on an EBay purchase. More Photos attached.

I bought a 1956 OGP proof set on the Bay. The photos (slightly out of focus) show a half dollar with what appear to be frosted devices and mirrored fileds on both sides of the coin. Further the eagle on the reverse appears to be a Type 1. The photos of the half showed enought tells to cause me to buy it.
The proof set should arrive by the end of the week.
Maybe luck will go my way and provide me with a raw 1956 Cameo Type 1 half dollar.

So you didn't want to ask the seller if there were frosted devices and mirrored fields on both sides of the coin?
This sorta thing messes up a listing
In English it usually prompts the seller to add their newly found information to the listing and the price of admission doubles.
In cases like these it's best to roll the dice.
I've gotten quite a few nice deals off there including a couple of cameo old proof set coins, just watch those "original" Lincoln rolls!

The proof set arrived today.
Unfortunately the half is a Type 2 and not a Type 1
Fortunately the half appears to be a high grade Cameo.
It has fully frosted central devices and lettering on both sides of the coin. The half is hazed over with light milky haze that will come off easily with a bath. The mint cello and the milky haze minimize the appearance of the contrast between the fields and devices so I cannot tell the degree of the contrast. The frosted devices appear smooth and unbroken (many 1956 halves show substantial frost breaks on high points).
As an added bonus the dime also appears to be a possible Cameo under the milky haze.

Attached are photos of the half in the OGP and out of the OGP. It looks great. Tonight I will remove the haze and post more photos of it and the dime.

Gave the half and dime a bath. Removing the milky haze really improved the appearance of both coins.
