Legit as in done by a mint employee on purpose, yes possible.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
I see no reason to doubt it.
I've seen several examples that have that double denomination Cent and Dime combo...I would not give it consideration unless it was TPG certified...unless it was ridiculously cheap.

Looks right. Always cool to see.

Nice to see an error that's actually an error for a change.

This is the third one I have seen on various forums the last week or so.
I could see a cent struck on a dime planchet but struck on a dime indicates
that there is some mint sport going on.
Right, a cent planchet wouldn't fit in the striking chamber of a minting press set up for striking dimes.
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
It's actually the same possible scenario either way.
A dime planchet or a struck dime gets stuck somewhere (most commonly in one of the big bins that are used for transporting planchets and coins around the facility), and then it gets dislodged later and goes through the striking process when cents are being struck.
Is it for sale or was the person just seeking opinions on authenticity?
Collector, occasional seller
I think he was just seeking opinions. The last I seen, I think he was deciding on what tpg to send it to. I can't find the post anymore.
