GTG of this cameo looking 1876 CC Trade Dollar. **Revealed**
You all have some good eyes noting the l/l DDR!
Considering CACG has only graded two of these, maybe it wasn't much of a challenge?
Actually the DDR is stronger in hand and loop than photoed but the toning does obscure it a bit. This is truly an awesome coin in my biased opinion. The cameo appearance really caught my eye. The fields are considerably free of any major or even minor marks for this year CC.
From what I could see POP graded at TPG's between grades AU50 - 58:
PCGS - 19
NGC - 21
CACG - 2
No recent auctions noted in Coin Facts for any AU straight grades. It appears this coin in these grades don't show up very often which is pretty cool.
Anyone seeing the numbers or search differently?
Also, how does the FS-801 come into play? Is that designation the same as DDR?
I came across this eye appealing piece today at the Tampa Bay coin show. I've been wanting one of these for quite awhile and this one really spoke to me. Cherry pick? Any other noticable details you may see?

If it was PCGS I'd guess 55. I'll guess 53 for CACG.
Not sure if it's the pics or toning but that is the least pronounced DDR I've ever seen.
Nice coin!

Great looking CC mint coin from America's centennial year that's just dripping with originality. I'll guess AU58.

AU-55 CAC DDR, The DD is weak but it's a very nice example.

AU50 DDR it’s there but that is some thick toning. Believe it or not most collectors prefer less originality to darkness.

AU53, love the coin, but would have paid no premium for the barely visible DDR.

I am at 53, but the toning is a bit dark for my tastes.

I'd go AU50 on that one...love it.
AU53. I like the look of the coin. Very original and eye-appealing to me.
I'm in the 55 camp.

Honestly, my first thought was 45. More meat than that but I don’t care for the darkness
There are so many different PCGS/NGC/CACG numbers for the same varieties. The FS-801 is the DDR. PCGS has 4 different PCGS #s for the FS-801 DDR, not including chopmarked coins which bumps it up even more.
I like this one a lot, nice newp!
