Those look worse than that Wes Welker big boy helmet that he used to wear that made him look like a Funko Pop. There's gotta be some scientific study behind the use of that helmet and it probably had favorable results for the NFL to actually ok these. Who knows if anyone will actually wear them.

Not a bad idea if it actually works.

Perhaps it's just sort of a ruse to help protect the NFL from future lawsuits regarding CTE and such.

What the heck is the NFL thinking, Bryce Young won't be able to see over the offense line at all!

Although it might be worth it just to see an egghead Rodgers. 🤔

Part of the ongoing equipment changes, along with rule changes, to insulate players from injury as best they can. Probably over the next 10/15 years the game as we know it today will be quite different.

Not a sexy look but one would think they could put a shell outside of it to make it a bit more appeasing.

Could not blame one player for wearing one of these...

    Enjoy your collection!

I could see some lineman maybe using it but thats about it. The skill players barely wear pads and take most of them out of their pants, the majority of them rarely if ever even use a mouth guards. Line backers rarely use mouth guards as well. Its unlikely they will wear something that will slow them down if they wont even wear a cup and mouth guard

Like mentioned its really just so in future lawsuits they can say they gave the player a choice for extra protection. If it was really about player safety and they have real evidence those things actually work than they should be mandated not optional

They're ridiculous looking, they look like a bunch of egghead's running around, if the players start wearing them the NFL will become a laughing stock.

I have to figure out why this doesn’t matter to me at all. Weird.

The reality of the injury situation in the NFL is most of the time the players themselves are to blame for trying to get a knock out hit rather than wrap up and tackle, lots of times they either miss, hurt their teammate, themselves or ofcourse they hurt the guy they are trying to light up

I highly doubt this will be worn by a lot of players, most of them wear as little as possible so they can move quicker

They don't even wear hip or leg pads hardly at all anymore
