" 1879-10 " Morgan Silver Dollar.

Received a call recently about the value of a silver dollar. When I mentioned to the caller it depended on the date, mint mark and condition. Caller said it was 1879 , so I asked about a mint mark on the reverse and gave caller an idea where to look on the reverse. They said it was the number 10. So , I asked if they could send a photo. And that was that. Never did hear back. Lousy photos, but it did pique my interest.

    Yes, of course. Yet there is that metal ( gouge?) next to the "o". Despite cleaning , dipping, etc., it almost looks extruded.

    Yes, saw that, but looked like damage (scratch, gouge) to my eyes. Love to see good pics if you ever get it in hand.
