DO NOT bid on the PCGS 1916 D mercury dime on eBay, it is not in real holder and after confirming the Baltimore sale of 2018, the coin is not the same coin.

Well, this really disappoints me. Ebay has decided that the seller can sell this counterfeit coin, rejected my report. PCGS needs to chime in on this one.
here is the proof: top one is Stack's Bowers sale in 2018.
bottom set are online on ebay.....notice the no pcgs logo in the lower right hand corner of the slab.
That is not even close, EBay should be responsible for facilitating multiple felonies including federal wire fraud statutes for electing blind ignorance, after all once told they are either grossly negligent or worse, participants.
I was able to convince the seller to finally remove it from eBay and call PCGS herself to let them know about what she bought, still not sure if she was really honest about buying it from a dealer from Florida and now is dead. I can only hope PCGS is contacted.
Bar code is 100% different as well.
Nice catch, OP. It shouldn't fall on dealers/collectors to police coins like this.
So many violations of state and federal laws here but not one single bureaucrat in this country can be bothered to pretend like they care.
I've reported so many fake CSAs to eBay... and eBay always reports back that their automation doesn't find an infringement...
I mainly collect raw Ancients, PCGS Mercury Dimes, and raw CSA'S... but have misc other sets...Jeffhttps://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/mysetregistry/set/215647https://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/mysetregistry/showcase/8378
The spacing in PCGS is just a little off.
