Didn’t we just do this topic?
Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.
Teleteade was sold to Stacks. GC has never been Teletrade

The title of this post is strange, but why am I not surprised?
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
@ianrussell ran TT, @ianrussell runs GC
I really liked the TT website. I wish the archives were still around.
My one and only TT cherry pick...
@Zoins
I knew that. But didn’t know he was the owner of TT. Never the less Teletrade was sold to stacks and they shuttled
It. Correct?
Edited to add I miss the Wednesday auction
Thanks
Martin
Per his bio, he wasn't the owner of TT. He was the President while it was owned by Spectrum.
That doesn't make them the same business. The title is incorrect and misleading.
Wish I had saved one of their TT catalogs. They used to be stapled in the center of the periodicals Numismatic news or was it Coin World?

The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!

It was coin World @leothelyon. however, I did not get Num. News so could have been both? James
I have never seen one of their early vhs videos. It would be interesting to watch, compared to the advances during the last 40 years.
I still remember those days......found some great coin including the very BEST set of toned NGC Rosy dimes.....in fact, the NGC MS69 1946 came out of that lot.... and at $50/coin, it was a steal (though very pricey at that time)....and numerous PCGS and NGC MS68 and FT/FB coins......the gold ol days
If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
I liked TT
I bought a few coins from TT back in the day.
Me too and I still have one.

They did an old holder sale once where a rattler 1909-s IHC in 65 RD went for $25k! That’s still strong 66 money today! 🤑

I take exception to that remark. Teletrade had a bad reputation, Great Collections has a good reputation. Coincidentally, Ian was at both companies but was not "running" Teletrade. He is the president of Great Collections of course.
I really liked Teletrade, with its minor faults. They had very user friendly systems that GC more or less copied and streamlined especially for high end material.
