How long before the NFL steps in, voids the Bucs Super Bowl win and bans Brady forever? ScreenGate is just getting started. 😉

It's so Brady though. Always looking for the extra things to motivate his guys lol

    that sounds like Tommy

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

This sports writer John Breech is acting like a absolute punk calling this a bribe. Which doesn't surprise me that he works at CBS.

This is not a bribe and this guy Breech should be ashamed of himself for calling it that.

Call it motivation, call it incentive, etc. But the word "bribe" normally connotates illegal activity. He's probably just another Brady hater jealous of Tom's success or whatever.

BTW - it wouldn't surprise me if this dope hears from Brady's lawyer.

    Good for Brady!
They shouldn’t need extra motivation but good for Tom trying to get max effort out of them.

Mahomes was running for his life the whole game so was Brady paying up every time the D sacked Patrick? 😀
Just kidding but I actually found out a lot about the Chiefs QB during that game. He was getting pressure almost every play but he wouldn’t give up even when the situation became hopeless. He played hard and played it out until the bitter end.

Things like that are common, QBs gifting linemen stuff, pitchers tipping bullpen catchers etc. As long as its not putting a bounty out to hurt people or to tank a play its all fine for players to do that

Derrick Henry gifted his Oline Rolexs the year he won the rushing title, Burrow has done watches and paying for cruises, even college QBs will do NIL deals with restaurants where once a week the Oline get to eat whatever they want free which is usually at a steak house. The guys that make the most pick up the bill at dinner and so on.

Guy must have needed some clicks during a slow period knowing just putting Brady would get people to read it

Never a topic you haven’t been an expert on!
Everyone knows about QB’s buying gifts for the o line. Running backs too, it goes back to at least OJ.
But this isn’t the same, so your examples are null and void.
These were cash payments so unless you come up with an example of that please stop being a know it all on every subject under the sun.

You’re on ignore and I will remove my sig line so you won’t exist in my world. Just tired of you coming into every thread and making yourself the expert. You started this one by saying, “things like this are common”.
No they aren’t, if so then post proof of it and giving teammates gifts at the end of the year is not the same.

Weeks later Darin would come to realize his life would take a dramatic turn for the better and curiously the starting point seemed to begin on April 20, 2024 at precisely 9:39 pm central.

Professional players making a lot of money giving other players incentives is pretty common which they talk about, but this is just funny

i'm sure most of you have figured out that Basebal is an alt-troll masquerading as someone genuinely interested in talking sports. his contrarian approach to virtually every post made and the fact that his profile is private is all you need to know. dude doesn't want anyone to connect the dots. i'll give him this -- he's pretty shrewd. he's cognizant of the line in the sand and never crosses it so he can continue to wreak havoc on here. but unfortunately for him, there's no way to combat being vaporized. i'm coming up on my 12-yr anni and not once have i gone this route, but as soon as i hit enter i'm gonna tail you on this one darin.

you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet

Couldnt be further from the truth but youre entitled to your opinion. Some people like talking sports others just want people to agree with them. To each their own

I initially had the same impression…. That this was the same as various other gifts and such. Usually given around Christmas or at the end of the season. And usually provided by QB or RB to their offensive line.

But I was curious about the bounty rule language so I had to look it up. Unfortunately for Brady this would fall under pay-for-performance which violates the rule and he would be subject to fine and/or suspension. Fortunately he’s retired. Fortunately for other players it’s not as clear of a violation to accept gifts so it looks like this won’t be much of an issue unless he returns.

Same here this is the first time I’ve ever ignored someone. I just can’t take it anymore he thinks he’s an expert on everything and is never wrong.

I never understood the desire for a private profile on here? I don't think we're sharing any classified nuclear secrets or anything.

I mean CU is just a forum for mainly collecting coins and cards, and some topics related to that such as sports, etc. I can't fathom anything being more benign than that which I would care if anyone viewed my past posts.

Id be interested if you found something that would indicate that player to player other than to injure people was a violation. The pay for performance was put in place for teams to players since it could be used as a way to work around the cap without having to pay them unless they did something and of course the whole Saints thing for injuring people. There may have been a change but its always been focused around coaches and organizations to players not players to players where gifts should also be illegal if that was the case

It’s not written using imperative language so it’s impossible for me to say.

The NFL runs their own system so what they might be thinking is all just conjecture until they make a statement.

I think to compare this to end of season gifts is intellectually disingenuous. I would say that I don’t think that when they wrote the bounty policy they were intending to police this. Pay for performance is kind of what players are doing.

I’m more in the wait and see camp here. Rationally this is a nothing-burger but the nfl is the NFL.

What would be the difference between what Brady supposedly did and a player saying I will give you a better gift at the end of the year if you help me reach a bonus?

I do agree Brady isnt in any trouble and the NFL isnt worried if he did it

The difference has been stated by others previously in this thread. You’re wearing out your tires with that question. This is one of those where you get to believe whatever you wish.
