Typical Buy/Sell Prices for Common Date Barbers

Do dealers with local shops typically price common date Barber Quarters/Halves at 90% silver melt when they buy (but not when they sell) ?
Today’s melt value is $5.21 and $10.42 respectively and a reputable shop offers x19 ( $4.75 and $9.50) for G-VG Barbers
They say it’s a living, we all gotta eat
But you’re here alone, there’s no one to compete.
Is there a better buy/sell price at shows or is the series not popular in those grades ?

Depends. If we're talking good/ better, I always pay more for Barbers. If they are slicks, then no.
X19 is a little too cheap. But, like other things, the Barber premium shrinks as melt increases. At $40 per ounce, probably no premium.
Interesting insight about Barber premium to silver; makes sense; I was interested in the G to VG range.
Very satisfied with 26X
are you looking to sell?

For sell - G and above most likely at CPG. For somebody telling me a nice good is only worth melt - tell them take flying leap. For acquisition of worn slick, culls YMMV.
No, I was able to sell and am very satisfied. I did try that forum first though with no nibbles at all. I think most folks are looking for higher grades and certified coins which makes sense to me.
