Probstein/Greg Morris collaboration?

azvikeazvike Posts: 377 ✭✭✭

Just got another marketing email from Probstein, and one of the items touted is a nice raw '65 Mantle. When you click on it you go to Greg Morris' EBay page...did I miss a "merger" of some kind?

I have always assumed that places like these and 4SC and probably a few others "WORK" together to derive their prices. Like a good ole buddy network. Your team bids on my items and my team bids on your items.

Work hard and you will succeed!!

i am sure they and others work together. in the old days, Kit Young used to supply lots of dealers as did Mr Mint, Alan Rosen. they played the role of wholesalers.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

They get money if you follow the link and place a winning bid. They don't have to be connected to the seller. Sites like top cash back have a similar arrangement except in this case you're not getting any cash back. May work similar for them though in the sense that they get credit for purchases you make within a certain timeframe or when you follow links from that page (ie. see seller's other items or clicking on promoted items advertised from that initial link).

    From the email:

Probstein Auctions is an eBay Partner Network Affiliate. When you click links and make purchases, we may earn commissions. It does not affect the price you pay for items. Clicks take you to eBay.
