I won an item last month. Paid on Sunday night. Showed up as shipped on Monday afternoon (I always request USPS). Coin arrived at my house on Friday afternoon.

I paid a week ago the tracking just seems to never hand over the package to USPS.

I won an auction Sunday, paid Sunday night, and it's out for delivery today.

I know they are very fast that is my concern a week and USPS still does not have the package in hand.

I always pay Sunday night and receive package by Wednesday or Thursday. Only one time did it take almost 2 weeks. However, that wasn’t GC‘s fault it was the USPS‘s fault.

Starting 2 years ago, I've always used the USPS $5 shipping. GC was quicker then and items were on the way by Monday afternoon. Now its Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday. Also, USPS has added a leg or two in the LA area for shipments going east. What was 3 days to get to me is now 4 or 5 days.

I think if an item is over $XXXX they ship FedEx. When it says arrived 'shipping partner', not sure if that is UPS or Amazon or ??? but does not sound like USPS.

I have a shipment from Heritage in Coppell, 180 miles west of me that has been shuttling back and forth between Minneapolis and St. Paul USPS facility for a week now. Informed Delivery now calls it:
    Delivery Date Unknown
    Wayward Package
    HERITAGE AUCTIONS EVS

That gives me great confidence.

Still does not show up on USPS tracking as received this whole thing is weird. This will leave a sour taste if it drags on. Just weird you would think they would hand over packages to USPS in person to avoid such delays on international orders (Canada in this case).

I assume that "Arrived Shipping Partner Facility" means that it was turned over to someone else for the trip to/through Canada.

I don’t know if GC does the same, but when I printed a usps label via PayPal to mail something to Canada, it went to a global shipping center nearby. There they put on a new label and mail it to Canada. The original tracking number only shows as delivered to the shipping center. You have to type the tracking number into the global post website to get the rest of the details.

This is the global post website that might have better tracking info:

    Also parcelsapp.com

Both are very useful for international shipping

That's scary because Fedex just leaves boxes on my porch or mailbox without ever collecting the necessary signature. My last submission, insured for $15K, was left on the porch for 15 hours after I was notified that the coin would NOT be delivered that day.

Can you not just request it to be held by FeDex at a pick up location if not at home?

I don't know. If they send you a message that the coin will not be delivered that day, then they should follow through and deliver the coin the next day. In the future, I may tell them to hold the coin and I can come pick it up. Maybe then they will collect my signature.

I am almost always at home, I notify USPS and Fedex that I'm home and even leave notes on the mailbox telling delivery people that I'm home and come to the front door for signature. They somehow sneaked past the dogs (!!) and dropped the box off on the porch at night with no signature confirmation. I found it 15 hours later at noon after spending the morning putting up a sign for Fedex, doing yardwork, and waiting for my delivery to arrive.

When shipped USPS, anything remotely out of the specific shipping plan will knock the package out of tracking according to my postmaster.

Her other bit of advice was always use either 1st class mail or ground advantage -- never priority mail. She said the quiet part out loud, suspecting that those are more likely to get inappropriate attention from employees.

I would definitely use 1st class mail at that price difference unless it was a very large order.
For me the last Sunday auction, the choice was $14 plus 50¢ a coin for USPS v. FedEx 2 day at $15 plus 50¢ a coin. It is nice getting it 2 days earlier since I live out in East Texas FedEx is half the time, but I wouldn't pay 4 times as much as you would have to.

I was crossing my fingers but I recently sent two high value packages via Ground Advantage, nicely secured but kind of ratty looking packing job on the outside. One to CAC and one to GC, each was valued about $20k, they both made it ahead of schedule and I breathed a sigh of relief for about $5 per package. I've had very good luck except for one priority mail letter recently with a check in it that never showed up so the guy just sent me a wire transfer and cancelled the check. I never use priority mail.
