The last of the "Boys of Summer" on the Brooklyn Dodgers, pitcher Carl Erskine, has died at the age of 97. Here is an autograph I got by writing to him 35 years ago.

Stand up guy. Holtzman passed as well. Sad week for some solid pitchers, but they did leave us with some great memories, and accomplishments.

97 years old. Plus he lived a dream that probably most boys had back then, of one day playing in the major leagues. And he was on a World Series winning team. Pretty darn good!
