Remember back in the day when using a sniping tool was almost essential?

Back when Ebay had actual auctions; and the tech was not yet imbedded in auction house platforms. I remember a lot of discussions on these boards about sniping services, seems times have changed.
Anyone still use an auction sniping tool?

Why not?

Yes, the tool I use is: me.

yes, I still use AuctionStealer but it seems roughly 10% are auctions. I just checked US Coin listings 1.7 million listings with 184K at auction with many starting or higher than a decent BIN price.
I still use Auction Sniper though as you mention, with a lot of eBay sellers shifting from auctions to fixed price listings, it’s far more important now to be the first to see a listing than the last to bid on it.

Heck, I remember the days before sniping tools, when I loaded up eBay auctions with a stopwatch in hand trying to time everything out.
Now that eBay auctions have a live countdown on the bidding page, I just use that and snipe manually when I feel sniping is called for.
I remember it but hardly a call for it on eBay. From my searches auctions only make up a small single digit percentage of items available. Even then there doesn’t seem to be nearly the level of competition there used to be. Then again, I am not the type that gets drawn in to spending more than I should. I set a hard limit and fire and forget.
Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.
Nicely put, Sean.

I still use Esnipe when necessary which hasn't been to much lately.
