If you read the following auction description, what would you guess the coin to be?

braddickbraddick Posts: 24,176 ✭✭✭✭✭

** Lime Green, Coral & Peach Iridescent Rainbow Toning
+Amber, Magenta, Apricot, Salmon,
and nearly every other color of the palette
.........................................................................

A fairly common date; a very uncommon coin. Please view the video included with the listing photos to get a sense of this XXXXmoods.

The coin presents without any notable demerits, exhibiting a solid strike and appealing surfaces. Three dimensionality is pronounced, particularly on the reverse--note the nomenclature. Enjoy, with our compliments.

Three notable features of the toning on this coin; please refer to photos:
1. Chromatic Gradation: colors transition gradually and almost imperceptibly from one to another.
2. Iridescence: The sheen and tint change with lighting and viewing angles.
3. Elevation Chromatics: Coloration responds to the physical relief of the strike.

Truly one of the more impressive toned XXXX we've seen.
Free shipping to USA only**

I'll show a photo of the coin a bit later.

Excellent guess. I too have seen some of those that would match the description- especially as you stated, the proof examples.
Here is a hint: The above coin was minted over a decade after the last Indian cent was minted.

I expect it to be a Monet painting.

If you say it’s a Peace Dollar I simply won’t believe it until seeing it. I would believe a SLQ.

Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.

    I’ll go with a SLQ.

Walker. With all that color would need a larger coin to encompass all that color.

That’s quite the description—certainly has my curiosity piqued.

Because braddick said the proof indian cent was a good guess, I’ll guess a proof Lincoln instead. I just spent some time perusing CoinFacts, and some of those proof Lincoln’s have some wild, wild color.

It's raw. I doubt it would get a straight grade from any of the major grading services.
