A toning miracle!

I bought a small collection today. The coins were submerged in a saltwater flood and essentially left to die. Virtually everything looked like this:

Miraculously, one coin came through the ordeal with flying colors. Literally!

Wow that is a mess. Anything salvageable in there?
I suppose it should qualify as naturally toned, but the odds of it straight grading at PCGS are approximately one in a million. Doesn’t matter. I love it!

Yes, but nothing was good enough to bother mentioning.

Some storage areas are worse than others. Call it a shipwreck find and list it on eBay, brother.
What a bummer to see. I'm happy to see the commem, nice job
Those Taco Bell napkins go above and beyond.
Thank you, Andy.
Whatever you do, don't let @emeraldATV see those coins!

Damn straight
How about an eBay surprise envelope...
Throw them into circulation and see how long it takes them to make another appearance here. 🧐
LoL!! That had me laughing out loud! 🤣

I guess it would have been a little different if they were silver.

Maybe you should but the coins back into their OGP and sell them to Vault Box for inclusion in the next Vault Box release.
That’s pretty sweet looking how well does it grade? From the pics looks like 67+ or better.
I wonder if that was part of the collection I sold about 3-4 years ago on ebay. All from hurricane sandy flooding. Coins looked just like that
Hey! That looks an awful lot like what they look like after being submerged in fresh water.
Fires and floods kill more coins than anything else and there are a lot of places coins can go to die.
Banks look at you funny if you take a bunch of these in. They might even refuse them.
It’s pretty much perfect. It was in its original capsule. Maybe waterproof but not airtight, if that’s even possible.

Could be. I was told it was saltwater, but they could have been mistaken.

Cool!
As a kid, I received a framed Lincoln Memorial cent coin board which, decades later, ended up getting flooded in my mother's basement. Some of the coins developed wild toning! I ended up selling the display intact....
