The photo is to insufficient in quantity for me guess the numerical grade it has been assigned. Nice 28 Peace Dollar though.👍

Pics not sufficient for grading, not enough light and a bit blurry.

Ditto. Need clearer pics - blurry. Looks nice at first glance though. My all time fave Lady Liberty.

Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.

lol if you can't see the bottom of the slab then you really need glasses.

    1. A little bit of chatter on the obverse, but a nice ‘28.

Don't be offended by the comments about your images. It took me a long time to be able to take a decent image. Still not perfect but a long way from what I used to take.
With that said I will guess ms 63 because I truly cannot see the coin well.

Lots of hairlines, MS62. A club member had one of these he showed me last weekend at his flea market space and he wanted too much as usual.

I appreciate your comments. But this is just a GTG post. I'm not trying to maket or sell it.

Of course at the end of the day, I'd take more time to take better images if I were to market it.

    MS62

Dang, I was worried about the few hairlines visible in the second set of pictures. A couple are OK on a 64 as I guessed but this must have more than visually indicated to be a 62. Still a nice tougher coin.
The first set of images hide all the minor surface imperfections since they are just a little out of focus. This could be a learning thread about sellers and slightly blurry images.

Grades like this one are pretty interesting to me. When it comes to BU 1928 Peace dollars, there are lots of ways to end up at MS62. Usually, it's a bunch of bagmarks. Occasionally a rim ding, or flat luster. What exactly do you do with a coin like this? At first glance it might have the look of an MS64 coin, or perhaps even better..... but, there are lots of hairlines. Call it cleaned? That's a possibility. If the hairlines are bad enough the graders will call it cleaned every time.... but what if it's just nice enough to avoid that?

Well, that's when market grading comes in..... and voila, MS62.

Good coin for an album. :)

Agreed impacted skin from a dip and slide marks. Classic commercial UNC from back in the day. Good point on the multiple ways to get to 62

Looks like it was dipped a couple of times and the luster loss really affected the grade.

Almost all coins that appear to be a much higher grade but end up as 62-63 have issues like hairlines, high point friction, muted luster etc and are net graded. There are no bargain out there only traps.
