Chips, as proven in the last supply chain breakdown, can be a valuable asset.
"Interest rates, the price of money, are the most important market. And, perversely, they’re the market that’s most manipulated by the Fed." - Doug Casey
It’s not that much different from using real estate or a fleet of automobiles or something else as collateral.
Also, keep in mind that the value computer chips diminishes over time due to obsolescence.
Companies often turn their own shares into cash via stock issuance.

An Italian bank in Italy has been taking Parmigiano Reggiano as collateral since 1953.
Unlike some items, this delicious cheese goes up in value with age.

I just bought a new pickup thanks to NVDA.
I am using AVGO, COST and NVDA to retire early

I’m using silver and gold to further my illustrious career. I just sit and wait. They will call. They will sell. They will buy. They know real money creates new money.
Only the AI chip shortage leads to this situation.
Once supply ramps up, NVDA chips have been boom-bust in the past.
Any time a stock goes parabolic like this you have to think about taking profits especially when it becomes a large percentage of the portfolio. If you have mutual funds and ETF's you should check them to see if NVDA is in them also. I have a fund that I bought long ago dedicated to chips. Nvdia is a whopping 25% of their holdings! It also appears in the Qube, SPY, and at least 3 other mutual funds averaging about 5% holdings each which adds up a lot. Most of these funds also hold some of my other big gainers like MSFT, GOOG, AMZN and AAPL.
