Rainbow Toned 1942s War nickel

I purchased this set of war nickels at an auction along with a couple of other things and I noticed this nickel had some pretty flamboyant toning. Not really worth anything but its cool to look at

    It looks like artificial toning to me.

    I wonder why someone would artificially tone low value coins like this

    Doubt it's AT. Those old cardboard holders would tone stuff occasionally, even well circulated material.

    Doesn't mean it'll straight grade, either.
