Portrait version. Seller asking $160. PSA 1 is currently listed for $275. Can't tell from photos if authentic. Thoughts?

Ya gotta remember something. Reprints of these T206 cards and others have been around for a long time now. They were basically worthless at the time and they're worthless now except for novelty value. So they've gotten handled, tossed around in drawers, shoeboxes, etc. and could emulate wear of a genuine card.

Virtually everyone these days knows that vintage baseball cards are valuable. It's very rare to find a babe in the woods who is going to sell their cards without first thoroughly checking out the possible value on the internet or at card shops, pawn shops, etc.

I highly doubt that this seller is a babe in the woods.

Bring an authentic T206 with you and a magnifying glass. Feel, look, and smell. 99% sure it is a reprint.

Take a road trip to Got Baseball Cards just north of Atlanta.
Joe's been in business 30+ years. He'll look at the card and
will let you know. He can arrange for grading.

Know Joe for 15+ years when his shop was in Snellville. He's consigned, submitted cards for grading, and purchased cards from me. Great dealer and a super person. That said I'm not going to contact the CL seller to purchase the card. Just wanted to post it here for comments. Sometimes on CL there are listings too good to be true. This seems to be one.

I can't pinpoint anything but it doesn't look legit to me.

I have said this a thousand times but be please be careful with these type of transactions, it's not just money you could lose.

Bring a buddy or something blue and cold.

Successful coin BST transactions with Gerard and segoja.

Successful card BST transactions with cbcnow, brogurt, gstarling, Bravesfan 007, and rajah 424.

Do police stations still offer places for CL transactions?

Most all still do in the ATL surrounding areas. If someone is hesitant about meeting at one I pass on the transaction.
