Ivy Baker Priest. Treasurer of the United States

In the 1960s I was moving furniture for Bekins Van Lines. One day our customer was a woman who was living in the LA Brea towers. I recognized her name, having seen it on older issues of our circulating paper money. We talked about that. I should have asked her to sign one of the bills.

She was appointed by Eisenhower and a prolific courtesy signer of paper money. She’s also the mother of Patricia Priest, who played Marilyn in the television series The Munsters.

You were a mover for Bekins? My back hurts just thinking about that.

How did you get into currency....and maps?

Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.
