What's going on with the surfaces on this DMPL Morgan Dollar?

Looks like some sort of haze (PVC?) but I can't tell if it's attributable to an artifact of photography through the plastic holder... thoughts? Possibly turned in the slab?

Haze. Probably dipped and not rinsed properly before it was slabbed.
Haze, possibly removable. If it were mine, I would just sell it to someone who likes rattlers instead of coins, because it looks rather generously graded.

DMPL and PL coins show every mark. Fields look clean for the most part. Maybe even cac would like it. I'd rather have that coin in that grade rather than an NGC DPL of the same grade at that time. It's a shame that it was not rinsed, but otherwise a great coin.
Haze that needs to be dipped off. Went bad in the holder. Low end 64 too imo. An offer at bluesheet wb generous.
As time goes on many these go bad in the holder. Who knows it coulda looked PQ with super luster when just graded. But decades reacting with the atmosphere….That’s why I never understood what the big deal is with rattlers lol. Then the irritating rotating in the slabs - seen their day.
From the Jimi Hendrix collection.........you know the rest.

Nope, Purple Haze.

I suspect or at least hope it looks better in hand.

This looks like haze that acetone or MS70 would remove. No need for a harsh dip. I bet the fields would really pop after.
I doubt this coin will see another MS64 holder if it's ever cracked out, this rattler looks like its tomb unless someone is willing to just go for it and likely lose a grade.
Collector, occasional seller
No doubt graded while it still had DMs.
