This is a very pretty Morgan. That photo is a bit washed out but you can tell it has the luster and also nice toning. Cheek seems very clean. I’d hope for you it was a 66 still as it looks clean and has great eye appeal.
Edited to add: Actually the more I look at this, it looks undergraded as a 66. Hard to tell if the single images are hiding anything but once again, it’s a really pretty and unblemished looking example.

I too think it may have gotten a * or even a +* combo.

The lighting is a bit tough but no less than 65+ imo. I'd guess it probably hit 66 being an anacs soap box. Probably a star too as others said.

Where did your dad buy all of these great coins?
The toning reminds me of that amazing red field Morgan that was shared not that long ago, this one isn’t as intense but still a beautiful coin.

Congrats! That's a great upgrade with a star!

This one was bought from Fred Coops in San Bernardino CA back in 1979. He kept it raw and subbed it himself to ANACS. He used to buy coins from dealers throughout California (Mike DeFalco, etc) and shows/bid boards.
Hey how about those Anacs coins!
