Anyone have more pre-1950 than post-1950 coins in slabs?

Does anyone here have more pre-1950 than post-1950 coins in slabs? If so, tell me what you have in slabs, if you wish.

Sure Do. I have NO Coins after 1950 in Slabs.
  • That's only because Mercs weren't minted later than 1945. image

I have a couple of modern slabs....my 911 coin from this forum for instance and a millenium sac and SAE... but as you can see from my small collection of Mercs.... I have many more pre 1950 slabs.

I must be out of the loop. I thought there were dozens of pre-1950 slabs
for each post-1950 slab. Very few later coins were graded until recently, right?

    3. I have about 60 slabbed coins pre-1950 actually most are pre 1933. Grades range from AU55 to MS66. I also have 3 slabbed Kennedy halves I submitted myself (1964,68 and 69.). Other than that I have about 100 unslabbed proof from 1955 to 1990. I wouldn't spend the money to slab a coin worth less than $100 which includes all of these. I also have about 20 unslabbed coins pre-1900.

If I were to own any modern slabbed coins they would probably be PR68DCAMs which are a really good value compared to the 69-70 coins and most collectors (including myself) could not tell the difference except by the label.

I've got over 650 slabs, and I'd estimate that three fourths of them are pre-1950. The later ones are mostly cameo proofs before 1971, Washington quarters that I needed to complete that set, and a few Franklin halves.

I have 56 PCGS Slabs before 1950 and 14 after 1950 and none in 1950. The cool coins are before 1950.

Yep, I only have about 6 post 1950 and about 20 pre. When I get my three submissions back it will be about 75% pre and 25% post. Though it will change again because for the first time I'm submitting some coins that I will resell.

I lean toward the post-50s since I specialize in Jeff proofs, but have a fair number of pre-50s, including my pride and joy 1940 Proof Set in PR 65/66!
