The other item sort-of worth sharing from my trip to the Tallahassee coin show

It is definitely counterfeit, but strangely well done. It has no ring, the weight is too light, it bulges a little on both sides, and as you see, there is no mintmark. Could it be an electrotype? Strangely, the "look" was seamless as it was in a bag of about 30 other terrible but genuine examples. I have read that Henning copied only 1939, 1944, 1946, 1947, and 1953, so I dunno what to think.

No clue on authenticity, but that one has been through heck and back and lived to tell most of the story.

    Diagnostics not visible, Weight?
The Counterfeit’s Weight is ~5.4 grams while the Jefferson Nickel is ~5.0 grams.
I'm sure the weight will be affected by enviro condition, but still interesting to know.
Neat pickup regardless. I think there may be more counterfeiting that went on in the 20's thru 40's.
Counterfeiters may have thought that Secret Service would be concentrating on paper rather than low value coinage.
Most numismatic folks do not think that. JMO

Also, according to an article on CoinTalk https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1953-henning-nickel-confirmed-and-new-die-marker.406062/ there is another method to finding a too worn for reverse diagnostics. Above the EN in CENTS is a small depression that might be used for an identifier. The OP coin has an anomaly in that area, which may or not be comparable.
May be paradoilia, but a possible S mintmark could be possible on OP coin. Again, weight might be helpful, especially if overweight. While underweight may be substantiated by enviro issues, overweight would be more evidential. JMO
