It’s a small coin world after all!

So once again, completely without realizing what I was actually doing, I bought a coin that I owned at least ten years prior (14 in this case) 😳! This is the coin:

It is graded MS66BN. Originally purchased from Evan Gale (now retired) of Aspen Park Rare Coins back in May of 2010. I’m not sure but I’m guessing it didn’t have a CAC sticker on it back then. This time around I bought it from Rick Snow out of the Don Kelly collection. Although designated BN, the amazing olive tone suggests wonderful faded mint luster. And the surfaces are about as close to perfect as you can get. Thanks, Rick!

I've done it before too. Even though there are millions of graded coins out there, 99% of them aren't in my wheelhouse. The ones that are tend to show up with surprising regularity. Looks like a pretty nice coin to me.

Not something I've done yet. But I don't sell hardly anything so that is kind of a roadblock.

At least your tastes are consistent over such a long time frame!

    Cool re-pickup, big like here!
This piece has such charm and looks well graded, you'd get a bean easily imho.

    I like it!

I remember Evan's cases at coin shows and also hearing how adamant he was about CAC. I think he took the entity as a personal affront :#

Just curious.... how many multiples did it cost today vs 14 years ago?

Curiously, I bought it for LESS this time around. PC Guide has it at $1650 and I just paid $1500. It was $2000 when I bought it from Evan, and I’ll bet I didn’t lose anything when I sold it.
