Clean or no clean

Looking for suggestions on whether to clean this or not.

I believe it's a 1850's New York City Merchant Copper Token ( E Lyon Magnetic Powder ) minted by Scovill

I think I would try some acetone. Other than that, it may be too far gone.

I'd find out what the shipwrecked gold coins go through for restoration and perhaps go that route.

Looks like a silver plated token of some kind. Not sure what would help that.
