Make it a tavern and my three would be...Shaq, Charles Barkley & Rob Gronkowski.
Rob would be the life of the party.
Chuck would have all types of food coming nonstop from the kitchen.
and Shaq would probably pay for it all. 😉
My second trio would be Bird, Magic & Bill Russell just to hear some great basketball stories. (Might have to sneak Kevin McHale in there too)

Kareem, Dr. J and multiple other pro basketball players from the 1960's and 1970's.
Cobb, Ruth, Gehrig
To add a fourth - Jim Thorpe would be interesting. I might substitute him for Gehrig if I can't get an addendum from the thread opener and have four. 😉
For me it would be Tommy, Peyton and ray lewis
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
my second trio may be tommy, moss and tedy brushci
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Oh that's an easy one....
1 Carlton Fisk...so I can grab a dip from him, and No wintergreen either
2 John Facenda
3 Um...Way Too Many to list
Hank Aaron, Tom Landry, and Tony Gwynn
Tough call
I can say I'd have zero interest in talking with Brady though.
I could see asking him a direct question and him circling around it saying a hundred different things and not actually answering my question lol
Roberto Clemente , Jim Thorpe and maybe Shaq.
Well clearly you wouldn't want 2 of the 3 athletes to be Peyton Manning & Emmitt Smith, you'd never know when there would be a stray can of Bud Light flying at your head. 😎

Peyton would make my list.
Peyton, Brady, Montana, Elway & Marino could all probably tell some great stories.
or you could get all of the Kelce & Gronkowski brothers together and watch all hell break loose lol. (I know, my athlete groups are getting larger with each comment 🤷♂️)

John Daly.
Babe Ruth.
Mickey Mantle.
If one of those three is busy I'd substitute Billy Martin.
Aaron Rodgers.
Alicia Schmidt
Paige Spiranac
Paige VanZant
Bill Russell,
Cy Young,
Bart Starr
I have known people who were out with Mantle. The reputations are all true. We would have to order a lite but I think chatting with Bob Euker would be a blast. Stan the man. Supe nice guy and funny.

oh my gosh, I forgot ARod. Maybe I don't need 3 people. Aaron alone would probably do. He could explain to me all the mysteries of the universe and all kinds of things...
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
How about Jordan, Lebron and Bill Russell? You could just sit back and listen while all three could make the argument for why they're the GOAT.

Stan Musial,Ali,Casey Stengel. Casey for some Stengelese language entertainment.
Reading the OP my thinking is three guys that would be fun to get drunk with. Most/many of the names mentioned might be guys that would be fun to hear tell stories, but you could do that anywhere.
Ted Williams, Tony Gwynn, and either Ty Cobb or Hank Aaron.
I'd just sit there, listen, and soak it all in!
Steve
I'd like to have a few beers in the golf cart and play 9 holes with Don Mattingly, Eddie Whitson (who pitched for the Yankees) and Danny DeVito.
