RED SOX Choke Again

Hi,

I am a Boston Red Sox fan. We just gave the NY Yankees another game and series. It's NOT like NY played well, we gave them the series. In fact, the Yankee players should take the Sox players out to dinner. Also, why in the hell was Sox defense playing the shift in the last inning with the score 8-7?
I am sorry, but when will Bosox hire real management? Mike Port is a lousy GM and was a lousy while he ran the Angels. He gives up a 21 year old pitcher with lots of ability in Baker for a part time lefty RP in Ambree, who has a history of arm troubles. Now talk is Sox may deal Fossum for Burks? Why? Burks is not getting any younger.

Finally, interesting article about the Red Sox farm system and how they fail to teach. Well duh, call m stupid, BUT how about cleaning house and start Firing some of these coaches in the minors?

Thanks,
Robert

They'll be sorry if they do go on strike. When the attendance high is about 9,000 for each game...they'll be wondering if they should have striked or not. I, personally, won't watch it anymore. I mean, these players are too d@mn greedy to be going on friggin strike! Let them come and live my life for about a month, and see if they want to complain about anything else. If I was making the money that these players make...I wouldn't complain about SH*T! I'd keep my mouth closed and go out and do my job and do what I'm supposed to do and not bltch about anything. This is totally lame.
  • It was Lowe last year, now it's Urbinia. I wish the Sox would click on all cyliners for just once. I guess as a Sox fan, I can at least say that they are still winning the season series with the Yanks.

About the strike, I think we as fans should strike against baseball. I personally boycotted college football last year because of the way they handle bowl selections. I love baseball, but what all sports fail to realize is, it's the fans that pay the salaries, NOT the owners.

  • Dodgamatic,

My question is why did Little play the shift in the last inning with Urbina pitching. I feel as though that's anther poor Sox managing decision- what's that make about 76,000 Sox poor decisions over the years.
I've been a Sox fan since 1981, and I am already going nuts. I can't picture beieng a 40 year vetran fan of the Sox. I swear those Sox fans must be in white jackets.

    Thanks,
    Rob
  • I just left my father-in-laws house. I spent 2 weeks visiting him, and all we seemed to talk about was baseball. He is the only person I know that was alive when the Sox won the series in 1918. He lived on Staton Island, but he was a Brooklyn Dodgers and Red Sox fan. The man saw Babe Ruth play a few times, and actally celebrated a Red Sox World Series win, can you believe it. He swears he will see another Red Sox series win before he dies, but I agree with you, if management keeps screwing up, it won't happen. Thanks God for the Patriots!

  • Dodgamatic,

I heard Reds wanted Chuck Finley from the Indians. But they needeed to make some room. So they turned to Mike Port and the Red Sox for help. From what I have heard, Reds offered Boston 4 prospects for CASH and Boston said NO Thanks. If this is the case, I say Fire Mike Port as GM right now. He was a lusy and pathetic GM while he ran the Angels.

    Thanks,

  • I guess he is the lesser of 2 eavils when it comes to Big Dan Duquette

  • Dodgamatic,

Jeez, Sox should hire Red (Celtics former Great) as GM/President. None of these Bosox coaches or scouts would last 5 minutes with Red in charge. He'd be cleaning house faster than you could type the word, "PSA."

Oakland is winning again. If there is NO strike, I honestly hate to admit it, but I don't think Boston makes playoffs. Their August schedule gets tougher and Sox just don't match Oakland in talent. Oakland is very strong 1-5 in rotation with Chavez, Tejada, Long leading the offense.

  • Well, after seeing the Patriots win the SB, I am the eppitome of optomism. Keep the faith brother, the yanks are looking to slide. I can feel it.
