Saturday Metal Porn? I picked up a few neat silver bars this afternoon.

The premiums were a little higher than I was expecting--$3 per ounce over spot.
A few 2nd and 3rd series Silvertowne bars from the mid-1970s. These go for about twice their melt value on eBay.
But that last bar is a little better than those other three. So I pried open the wallet and shelled out the whole $136.25 without bargaining. They only charged me 5 ounces even though it's technically 5.4 ounces. So I guess I did ok after all.

Weiss, you did especially well with those purchases. The SF Mint bar is exceptional.

Wow! Love that SF assay bar. I would love to own one but I can't justify paying that type of premium for silver. Awesome score!

It's all about what the people want...
nice, i like them old bars
Holy crap that's a nice SF find in the wild! I found one once way before the premiums really went crazy on them. I'm sad to have sold it for roughly $800.
