Attempted to rescue this 1909 Lincoln Cent from junk bowl...until the mintmark area was uncovered.

    Soaking in PAM dissolved most of the gunk to reveal what the "asphalt" did not cover.

    This specimen is still soaking in acetone. Little, by little, the "asphalt" is emulsifying.

    Soaking it in VERDI-CARE wouldn't hurt. It won't help much but it wouldn't hurt.
