Pulled from a Loomis roll this week. Not sure I've ever run into one like this.
It instantly stood out.
Really nice strike, very mirrored... Just thought it was interesting.

I have noticed from searching that halves from 1971 tend to be semi-prooflike, and this decreases year by year until in '76 there is no real noticeable shininess. I have found a couple '71s that would probably grade prooflike if they had been MS.

Mint set '71-D's are often very PL but usually have little depth to the mirrors.
An awful lot of mint set coins make up circulating coinage but they are buried in other denominations. I've found a few mint set crimping damaged quarters over the years.
