My Completed 1943 Mint Set

Hi all. Just thought I'd share my completed 1943 Mint Set. I chose 1943 as my first set since both my parents were born that year, and because I thought it's an interesting year anyway with the wartime compositions of the cent and 5c, Mercury and Walkers still in production, with three mints in production.

I put it in the registry set, link below. I'm still waiting for the old owner of the S quarter to remove it from their inventory so I can add it to mine. Maybe that will move me up from 25th to 23rd. :D

I know it's not nearly as impressive as some of the high-dollar collectors and set owners here. I'm more of a lower budget guy so I am very happy and thrilled to have completed a set like this. Keeps me excited about collecting. Thanks for looking.

@Allentram I like it a lot, especially the D nickel with the old series/coin label.
The whole set is good looking to me. Thanks for the post.

Great set and congrats on completing. But, why 1943? Birth year, etc?

Thanks. Most of this was put together last year. I could have put this together really quick but held out for good value and good quality. Glad I did.

Yes, I noticed that about the D nickel. I bought it off ebay and was surprised to see it with all 6 FS.

Birth year of both of my parents. I also liked the year because of wartime compositions, affordability and all 3 mints in production.

Not a thing wrong with that set! Does the 43 Merc have toning or is it just the light? And the "D" Walker?

Yes, the 43P Merc does have light toning, really nice and subtle. The D Walker does too, grey, blue and black around the rim. I may upgrade that someday to a fully white MS66, but I still find it pleasing.
