Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen! I would like to start a new recurring thread for people to post the most gormless coins they stumble upon over on the Bay of Fleas. Bonus points if you have already reported the piece to their steam-powered Turing Device and been told that it doesn't see anything wrong with the listing. Feel free to re-report any or all of these duds.
He also has a 1922 No D listed with two stolen pictures of completely different grades.

Omg, 13 bids, that's terrible
I’ve never seen anything so blatantly counterfeit.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Oh, you were actually serious about the Uncle thing - Best of luck!
The round error strike trends. We will see a slabbed one, shortly.
This is gormful. Maybe you really mean gormless?

Gents, For future reference. Take a screen shot of the subject at hand so us guys late to the party can see what all the excitement was about after the item has been deleted or pulled.
Thank you in advance. 👍

This 1917 Buffalo Nickel is an outstanding addition to any coin collection. With an Uncirculated condition, this coin has never been used and has no signs of wear and tear. The 5C denomination and Buffalo design make it a classic piece of American history. Struck in a Business strike type at the Philadelphia mint location, this coin was manufactured in the United States. It is also uncertified, giving you the opportunity to have it graded to your liking. Don't miss out on the chance to own this exceptional coin. https://www.ebay.com/itm/355490515397?

The "small bust" variety no doubt.
My God! FooBey actually believed my report and deleted the listing!
Will wonders never cease???
Why limit it to just eBay? Why not post a laughable coin listing from a major dealer or auction company?

Feel free to start such a thread. I wish to stick to the bay.

Lol, good posts so far! Has anyone else noticed that eBay removed the ability to report listings using the app on the iPhone?
And?
unknown state of circulation with a P 1 grade
I think they used the AI description generator that eBay now has for that tidbit. Possibly it picked up on the P and the $1 in the title or what the lister selected in the listing options and turned it into a grade. I used it for a couple of listings but stopped as the descriptions included things like 'This would be a great investment for a collector' etc. which may or may not be true.

its intelligence is artificial
My favorites are the "Rare Buffalo Nickel, Unknown Date" listings with starting bids or BIN of $1,000. Seen a few lately.
I just hate it when one person bids 10 or 15 times in a row to make it look like there are lots of bidders.

This one looks silly/interesting (right up my alley):
Edited to add:
I'd post the auctual auction, but I am bidding on it and don't need any competion.

It’s the worst counterfeit Bicentennial quarter I have seen. I wonder where the “G Mint” is?
You do realize it's one of those 3 inch coin coasters.
I accidentally cut off the T from Mint

Actually, yes. I'm hoping it is made of solid silver though.

would it bother you if it were german silver?
Although my wife's mother may think differently.

Didn’t take much—
i saw their other listings. someone needs to tell them to quit submitting damaged pocket change. they're spending big bucks that could be avoided with some free advice from here
That’s the real thing, these are repops:
We try here, but they go off and do it anyway when someone finally says “Well, go off and get that graded right away then. Be sure to post the results”.
I ‘ve seen this before, Stars go dark.
Then a detail fine slab shows up on eBay.
The one I'm bidding on is a Lowball.

That got in there by my error. That was a response to Braddock that hid itself in the draft. Thanks for revealing the pics.
I won.

Here's a good one. Gotta get my hands on one of these!

Lmao! Almost as funny as the people who call me who think their modern era pocket change will make them rich! Like the lady today who called me about a 1974 Lincoln cent which she "saw" online being worth a lot!
Wow! $355.00 with 44 bids.
