I do like those, congrats! I bought a similar coin not to long ago, there's a huge level of cool-factor attached to shipwrecks! Especially the "shipwreck that changed the world!"

    Congrats on your pick-up!

I'm wondering why the CoA has what seems to be a photoshopped 1783 date on a Carlos IV 8R...

Any idea why the label doesn't note "holed-filled". I like the coin, non the less. Peace Roy

    Oh? Do you mean this?

Wow, I didn't notice. Apparently, ANACS, didn't either?

The filled hole must be OK for a grade like "Prime Select", whatever that is.

It seems unlikely that a newly minted coin would be holed but that's what it looks like.

Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.

It certainly looks like it has been holed, but there are other possibilities.

Perhaps there was an impurity in the silver mix. In this case maybe it is actually a spot of silver that’s more pure, meaning that perhaps it wouldn’t break down as easily, lending itself to not react as quickly as the rest of the coin. This piece of “impurity” Is big enough that it goes through the whole coin, from front to back. Seems possible.
