Has anyone ever graded a magazine? Is CGC the place to grade it? I have the first Beckett Basketball.

Can't go wrong with encapsulation here being it's MJ and the first issue. Any marks on the inner pages? If you do get it graded let us know the results.
If that's a picture of your actual copy, it's in poor condition, so probably not worth it as it isn't really rare..... But CGC is the magazine slabber to use.

thanks guys. Yes that is mine I scanned. No there are no markings in it. I haven't decided anything on it. I was just curious. If I do grade it. I will let you know.

I wanted the 4 main sport 1st beckets all slabbed. It’s probably cheaper to buy the basketball, football and hockey ones already slabbed on eBay. 9-9.6 go for less than 50 bucks usually.
I subbed those myself but have since bought the basketball and football in 9s pretty cheap.
What about sports illustrated? I have every one that Jordan was on the cover. But I think all of them have the shipping label on the front. How does that affect the grade? Everyone that I have seen go high and price does not have the shipping label. Can someone explain the intricacies of that? Can they be removed?

Some can be removed. I’ve had some labels removed before. I’ve found that it’s typically not worth it. I’ve gotten a few SI slabbed that I had as a kid and slabbed them mostly for sentimental purposes. We didn’t have cable growing up so had this gigantic satellite dish. The tv guide for it was this thing called OnSat. We saved the few times a there was a sports cover. I got them slabbed after I rediscovered them in my parents attic. Here is a Tyson cover. I have a Jordan cover too but can’t find the pic
Thanks.
