Last active on the forums 12 years ago, which is why it didn't ring a bell with me.
But sorry to hear the news. He even included mention of his coin collecting hobby in his obituary, so he was certainly dedicated.
RIP @auhobby

I also don't remember him. Maybe it's because his total post count was 4. In any event, may he rest in peace.

He was active with the Lincoln Cent complete variety registry, no, right Bob?

Yes- Very active until only maybe a year or so ago when he sold his entire set. Prior to that he was busy with most coins but really liked Morgans. I wheeled and dealt with him many times - had lunch with him at shows. You don't have to be an active Forum participant to have top sets. He was a rural doctor and humble person.
WS
served his community well as a country doc. RIP
He did a bit of everything. RIP doctor
I wasn't familiar with him, at all.
Sounds like a great collector, though.
ALWAYS sad to see someone leave the table.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Loved Sparti RIP
One of my ancestors was one of those good ol' fashioned traveling country doctors! He was pretty locally renowned too at the time!

RIP Dr. Sparti. I didn't know him, but I am wishing all of his friends and family solace during this difficult time.
I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.
I didn't know Dr. Sparti either, but he brought joy into a lot of lives both here and delivering babies.
Dr. Sparti reminds me of the "Moonlight Graham" character in the movie "Field of Dreams". What influence he had on various lives by his existence. And what life would of been without his input. A quality individual indeed.
