PSA Autographs/Cards Authentic? What does it mean?

I need some clarification as I see PSA Grading with Authentic being used with or without card grade. My questions are:
1) Authentic on one line and then Auto 10. I get that the Autograph is graded as a 10 but what does Authentic imply? a) That the submitter didn't want the card graded? b) That the card graded as Authentic (trimmed or something negative that didn't allow for a grade to be applied?) How do you if it's a) or b)?
2) An autograph card is graded Authentic with no numerical grade for card condition. Did the submitter just want the autograph graded but the submitter didn't want a numeric grade assigned for the autograph? and PSA is stating the autograph is legit?
Thanks!

1) A) yes
B ) if authentic trimmed, it would say so
2) yes
However, if the label says Trading Card, they did no assessment of the actual card. Just the autograph.
