Foreign silver "Box of 20"

I finally put together a decent box of 20! I like them all, each one for different reasons. My favorite is the Ireland 5 shilling Crown (Charles 1st). I’m probably going to keep going and work towards a 2nd box. My goal is to add many different types and designs. I prefer larger crown size coins. Would love to hear thoughts and suggestions on my current box and the 2nd box. I am posting a link to a video I posted on my Instagram account. It’s just a short snippet for each coin but gives a good idea of what I’m after. My first time posting a link here so I am hopeful it works.

Each of those are great. I'd say to just keep going. I mainly collect German coins and those are fairly well represented already. I'd look out for a Lion Daalder to add at some point.

Thanks for the kind words. Great suggestion. I’ve had the Lion Daalder on my list for quite some time. Finding one with the look I want has proven to be very challenging. They usually look very shitty.

Very nice! I see a lot of concentration in northern Europe, I think there are a lot of interesting coins to add from Spain and former Spanish colonies (in addition to what you already have).

Definitely could use a nice Pillar 8R. A few others I've been eyeing recently are a Chile Condor, Chile Volcano, Guatemala Mountain, and a Spanish Phillipines 8R.

Looks like a nice group! I also agree with a Lion Daalder (and agree they are hard to find with original surfaces).

What about a City View Taler?

I’ve been looking at the Chile condor and Volcano. Tough to find without issues and the look I want. Guatemala mountain is a must have for the upcoming box. If you come across a nice one please let me know!

I love your current box and would suggest you keep going and build a second box or simply be done with it and sell me the contents of the first box!

It would be incorrect to call these “foreign” coins. On this board, there are folks from all over the world, not only the United States.

If you are German, a German coin is not foreign. Likewise for Greece, England, Chile, Japan, and so on.

The correct term would be “world” coins.

That's what makes them great. The planchets usually aren't round. The strikes are weak and/or uneven. Other planchet defects are common.

Crusty: Such a great box of 20! You never cease to amaze on quality and a selective eye!
