Holy Cow!
Will Ferrell does a fantastic take off of Harry. Watch it on YouTube.
ya think this one was at Comiskey?
Well I’m so old when you say Harry Carey I think of the old western actor, mentor to John Wayne. He played the sheriff in angel and the Badman and was in many other westerns. And I think Harry Carey jr. was in the searchers. The blond kid, he also had a nice career.
I was driving cross country (2001) and stopped to eat. I got back into the truck and on the radio was a baseball game broadcast. during a 40 day and 40 night rain delay. That call by Harry Carry caught my undivided attention.
I was amazed at how well done this story merged as one LoL. First time for me.
Was "Jesus On the Mound" and "Field of Dreams" based one of Harry's naps ?
What ?
yes, sometimes i do feel very very old
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
‘Oh, for the long ball ….’

That just seems like a punishment for his great grandson
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
One of Harry's many quotes.....spellling players names backwards.
During a broadcast of another lovable losers Cubs season, Luis Salazar came to bat & Harry couldn't help himself.
"Did you know Salazar's name spelled backwards is Ra-zal-as? Upon which he took another long swig of budweiser.
I always liked Curt Gowdy with the Red Sox.
Don Orsillo as a play by play guy was a big steal for the Padres

Curt Gowdy did the MLB game of the week on Saturdays back in the 1960s and early 70s. I am thinking it was NBC but I could be wrong.
Harry Caray was personable and entertaining but was no Vin Scully in terms of baseball knowledge and insight. But in all fairness, Caray spent 25 years in St. Louis and had quite the following among Cardinals fans. Sort of amazing how he could be so popular among both Cardinals and Cubs fans given there long standing rivalry which was quite significant back in the day.
As for the picture, Comiskey seems plausible.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
I'd still take Vin & Joe any day of the week...Those 2 were my All Time Fav's...⭐⭐
I do remember for a while that Don Drysdale did some announcing for the Sox...
I thought Don did a Pretty Cool job...👍
Back the day, Drysdale did games for the Angels- He worked with Dick Enberg. I thought Drysdale was a vey capable broadcaster

I think so. I recall Harry and Jimmy Piersall doing games from the centerfield bleachers. I also remember a shower in the bleachers so fans could cool off.
That Shower Was Awesome...
The food Was Really Good in the Picnic Area behind the Left Field Wall...👍

What's your favorite planet?
Mine is the sun. It's like the king of planets.
We all know the moon's not made of cheese, but what if were made of barbecue ribs? Would you eat it? I know I would.
