    Beautiful coin. It’s so annoying as a rattler collector they don’t label coins rattlers…unless it’s an old holder auction.

    How did they know that this is a proof coin if it is in “50” condition?

    Proof is a method of manufacture. 50 is the amount of wear.

    So how do they know the coin was originally a proof, if it now shows so much wear and tear? What is the giveaway that says “this is a proof coin” and not just any old coin graded 50?
