1873 T$ ANACS PR50 Details. Nice, affordable example of a proof T$.Link
Beautiful coin. It’s so annoying as a rattler collector they don’t label coins rattlers…unless it’s an old holder auction.

How did they know that this is a proof coin if it is in “50” condition?

Proof is a method of manufacture. 50 is the amount of wear.
So how do they know the coin was originally a proof, if it now shows so much wear and tear? What is the giveaway that says “this is a proof coin” and not just any old coin graded 50?
