Did anyone here win this 1919 French 1 Franc?

I was the high bidder and went to sleep but was outbid. I really wanted it for a type coin as the toning looked spectacular. Congrats if you won it.

Was on my watch list but never bid.

You’ll be able to find a nicely toned piece of these later dates.

I didn't - just our of curiosity what did that end up going for?
This is my current example which I am not overly fond of - its also a 65 and is about the least dazzling coin of my present collection.

MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

Ended up going for $227; $255+ with the juice

I do not own any of these type of coins, maybe they will be on my list some day.

i have seen a lot of this beautiful design, on ma-shops many of the early dates and in other sites the 1900's, the last set I saw was a 1918 with the 50C-1F-2F coins crisp bright at $35.

Congrats to the winner. It's nicer in person from what I remember.

I still find it fascinating that having photographed tens of thousands? of coins, you still remember specific ones you've handled. It truly shows that each coin, especially toned, has to have a personalized approach that highlights qualities of that particular coin.

I'm pretty sure I've photographed over a million coins at this point, although it's hard to say with so many crackouts and resubs. This coin stood out because it was the first toned Franc I came across working at GC.
