1936 Buffalo DDO-1 or DDO-2? New photo added.

Thought I had included closeup photo of the date, Sorry for the mixup...
Have DDO-1 in a PCGS MS-63 slab, but the doubling on this one, although a lower grade, seems stronger on the date and different on LIBERTY. I'm confused.

I believe what you see on Liberty is the metal being stretched to the rim and bringing the letters with it.
Looks to be an earlier die state of DDO-001. DDO-002 doesn't have the strong doubling on the date.

It looks like Die Deterioration Doubling.

It's a well-known class VI (distended hub doubling) DDO, listed in the Cherrypicker's Guide as FS-101. See my post above with the link to Variety Vista. Class VI doubled dies can cause a 'smeared' effect, making lettering look thick..
I wish the date doubling on my 63 was as strong as on this coin..
