I have a few. Eye protection not necessary.

I always love looking at any coin crazyhouddog posts.

I want to point out how remarkable the 1916-P Buffalo Nickel is. It doesn't have that eye-candy appeal the others have, but the strike is absolutely incredible. The reverse is flawless from a strike perspective.

    Here are my ONLY two:

    An early near gem

A common gem in a desirable 2.1 slab:

BOTH have doubled in value, since I purchased them just over 4 years ago.

    That 1916 is a proof. If I remember correctly a 65.

Yes in fact that 16 is a proof 65. jJust something about its originality drew me to it. I just had to have it. It doesn’t really go with the rest of my nickels but I still love it. Only 600 of those were struck.

Isn’t the color of that nickel amazing? Obviously it’s a proof but it’s not behind plastic from a slab so it makes it much easier to pick up the beautiful color it displays. It’s almost perfect. One day I’ll send it in. I’ve own this nickel since it was minted. If I remember right it was in my fathers collection and he left it for me along with many others.
    Thank you for the compliment.

That makes sense. I initially thought it might be a proof, but wasn't sure since 1916 matte proofs are so rare.

I had to come back and take another look at this coin. The strike is amazing. Very, very nice my coin brother.
Congratulation on owning such a beautiful piece.
