A COB salad: the “official” cob thread

Let’s see how long this thing runs. If you have a cob and wish to share, do it here! Here’s my first, modest contribution.

A Guatemala cob, 1 Real, 1741

    Dated 1620 from Potosi.

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

Nice! One day I'll get one of those big, honkin' Potosí cobs, great stuff!

I'd like to buy some "Royals" one day, but it's never been a priority. Mexico 1/2R and 1R, maybe a Potosi 8R, and 1R or 2R from Peru.

Royals would be great coins to collect but not a cheap endeavour. I had one when I started collecting but sold it (it was a lower denomination from Mexico).

All you buy is royals my friend. Some larger, some smaller, usually roundish, but all royals
